Season 3 is produced by a different studio to season 1 and 2, so there might be some slight character designs differences from previous seasons.

Based on the novel by Tian Can Tudou (Heavenly Silkworm Potato), who also wrote Doupo Cangqiong (Battle through the Heavens), Da Zhu Zai (The Great Ruler)

lol think the studio is busy with the same author's work called Dragon Prince Yuan and The Great Ruler, plus another work by another author, probably why this was given to a new studio (one that only has a donghua under their belt)

they never showed him getting this new thunder body to forge himself. so I'm guessing that the ferret gave it to him

mhm, they tend to skip a lot of content with Heavenly Silkworm Potato's works, like Doupo Cangqiong, but at least in that one you have a narrator that gives a brief summary of what happened last episode and some additional information for what was skipped

TCT really got a lot of his creations out, would imagine it'd be one of the few dreams of an author seeing his creation be animated!! Wow, he's killing it, lucky bastard aha.

Currently Dragon Prince Yuan is being developed by Magic Motion, same studio as Doupo Cangqiong, but given the lockdown in Shanghai where the studio is based, it would probably mean delays in both IP

well to be fare Motion Magic's main project is and have been Doupo Cangqiong after all I'm just hoping the fighting scene quality remains just as good with this studio i do like the redesign on the MC so far s1 and s2 of this kind of felt like being handled by there B team in terms of over all world animation quality the fighting scenes where to notch and the sakuga moments but all the rest hmm not so much at times

Personally I feel that DC Impressions is the B team you are speaking of lol, the project was being developed by Motion Magic then while later it switched to DC Impressions, which I found interesting. Not only that, the character designs in the trailer produced by Magic Motion at the time are still being used by DC Impressions, and it wasnt a complete restart

Magic Motion has also done Shanhe Jian Xin, unfortunately second season hit a snag with the censors, and to this date no one outside the studio knows for sure if it is cancelled or certain scenes are being redone, most people believe the project is delayed due to the staffing issues, hence MU went to DC Impressions, they are also doing The Great Ruler, from the trailer looks, it might be another main project

Totally agreed, up until a few months ago, I thought I remember seeing Motion Magic being the studio responsible, but I thought it was weird since the trailer released last year didnt look like the work of Motion Magic.
Sadly Motion Magic is based in Shanghai, not sure if it had anything to do with the change, but one thing for sure, Doupo Cangqiong season 5 and the three episode special will probably be delayed

Sigh the animation movements seems somewhat off. I wish the initial studio didn't transfer their rights to another company. The story is soo hard to follow now..

Yeah, as mentioned on another post, not sure as to why the studio was changed, could be a number of factors

- Doupo Cangqiong season 5 and the three episode special needs more resources, and they cant make Wudong Qiankun in time
- Shanghai lockdown (Motion Magic is based in Shanghai) would have delayed season 3, though this seem unlikely as the trailer for season three was released back in Aug 2021 and it is the same style of animation and character design

But I am willing to give it a chance and see how it goes :)

different studio and i can't tell if the animation has improved or degraded here lmao. The tiger was such a joke in last season and @06:06, the mustache on it makes it look absolutely ridiculous lmao. God bless next few episodes. I will keep watching cause I was waiting on it's release for months now. DC Impression Vision didn't impress me like Heaven's 1st episode did. That animation was total bombastic since episode 1 till the season's end 🤔

Got to tell you having just watched s1 and s2 the animation quality has gone up a notch to Dan Yuan
